Privacy Policy
What we collect, why, how long we keep it, and what you can make us do about it.
The short version
- We collect what you type into our forms, and nothing else that identifies you.
- We do not sell or share your personal information. We never have.
- We do not use advertising trackers or profiling cookies.
- The site stores one thing in your browser: which country you picked, so prices show in your currency.
- You can ask us to show you, correct, or delete your data. Write to the address below and we reply within 30 days.
This summary is here to be readable. The full terms below are what apply.
Last updated: 26 August 2026 · BoaTech Consulting LLC, a limited liability company registered in California, United States.
1. Who we are
BoaTech Consulting LLC (“BoaTech”, “we”, “us”) is the controller of the personal information described in this policy. We can be reached at info@boatechconsulting.com.
2. What we collect
| What | Where it comes from | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Name, email address, phone or WhatsApp number, company name | You type it into the quote, contact or careers form | To answer your enquiry and quote your project |
| What you tell us about your project, budget band and timeline | The same forms | To scope the work and price it |
| The country and currency you had selected | Submitted as a hidden field with the form | So we know which prices you were looking at when you enquired |
| Anything you type to the site assistant | The chat widget, if you use it | To answer you, and to pass the conversation to a person if you ask for one |
| Aggregate traffic statistics | Google Analytics 4, once enabled — see section 8 | To see which pages are useful |
We do not ask for, and you should not send us, government identification numbers, payment card numbers, bank details, health information, or anything else sensitive. If you send it anyway, we will delete it.
3. Lawful basis
Where a lawful basis is required of us, we rely on:
- Your consent, given when you choose to submit a form or start a conversation with the assistant. You can withdraw it at any time by writing to us; withdrawing does not affect what we did before you withdrew.
- Steps taken at your request before entering into a contract — preparing your quote is the obvious example.
- Our legitimate interest in keeping a record of enquiries and in understanding, in aggregate, how the site is used.
4. Your rights — California (CCPA / CPRA)
If you are a California resident, you have the right to:
- Know what personal information we have collected about you, where it came from, why we collected it, and who we disclosed it to.
- Delete the personal information we hold about you, subject to the exceptions the law allows.
- Correct personal information about you that is inaccurate.
- Opt out of the sale or sharing of your personal information, and to limit the use of sensitive personal information.
- Not be discriminated against for exercising any of these rights. We will not refuse you service, charge you differently, or give you a worse result because you asked.
BoaTech does not sell personal information, and does not share it for cross-context behavioural advertising. We have not done so in the preceding twelve months. Because there is nothing to opt out of, we do not operate a “Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information” link; if that ever changes, this policy changes with it and the link appears.
To exercise a right, write to the address in section 10. We will verify your request by replying to the email address we already hold for you, or by asking you to confirm details you previously gave us.
5. Your rights — Cameroon
Cameroon Law No. 2024/017 of 23 December 2024 on the protection of personal data applies where we process the personal data of people in Cameroon. Under it:
- We must have a lawful basis for processing, and where that basis is consent, the consent must be free, specific, informed and given before processing starts.
- You have the right of access to the data we hold about you.
- You have the right to rectification of data that is inaccurate or incomplete.
- You have the right to erasure of data we no longer have a basis to keep.
- You have the right to restriction of processing while a dispute about accuracy or lawfulness is resolved.
- You have the right to portability — to receive the data you gave us in a structured, commonly used, machine-readable form.
- You have the right to object to processing carried out on the basis of our legitimate interest.
Transfers outside Cameroon
BoaTech is established in the United States, and the providers we use to run this site and our email are also outside Cameroon. Personal data you send us is therefore transferred to, and processed in, countries outside Cameroon — principally the United States. Where the law requires prior authorisation from the competent Cameroonian authority for such a transfer, we will obtain it, and we will not carry out a transfer that requires an authorisation we do not hold.
6. Your rights — European Union and United Kingdom
If you are in the EU or the UK, the GDPR and the UK GDPR give you the rights of access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability, and objection, on the same terms set out in section 5, plus the right not to be subject to a decision based solely on automated processing that produces legal effects for you. We do not make any such decisions: the site assistant answers questions and passes you to a person, and it does not decide anything about you.
Your personal data is transferred to the United States, where we are established. You have the right to lodge a complaint with your national supervisory authority.
7. How long we keep it
| What | Kept for |
|---|---|
| Enquiries that did not become projects | 24 months from your last message, then deleted |
| Client project records | The engagement, plus 7 years, to meet US tax and accounting requirements |
| Careers applications | 12 months, then deleted, unless you ask us to keep them longer |
| Site assistant conversations | Not stored by us beyond the length of your visit unless you give us contact details, at which point the conversation is treated as an enquiry |
8. Cookies, analytics and browser storage
Cookies
This site sets no cookies of its own. There is no advertising cookie, no profiling cookie, and no consent banner, because there is nothing to consent to.
Browser storage
The site stores exactly one value in your browser’s local storage:
| Key | Value | Why | How to remove it |
|---|---|---|---|
boatech_country | A two-letter country code, e.g. CM | So that prices appear in your currency on your next visit, instead of resetting to US dollars | Clear site data for this domain in your browser settings |
This value stays in your browser. It is not a cookie, it is not sent to us automatically, and it does not identify you. It is submitted to us only if you send a form, and then only so we can see which prices you were shown.
Analytics
Google Analytics is not currently running on this site. The tag exists in the page source but is commented out and sends nothing. No analytics data about your visit is being collected today.
When we enable Google Analytics 4, it will collect: pages viewed and how long you spent on them, the site or search that referred you, your approximate location derived from a truncated IP address (country and region, not street address), your device type, browser and operating system, and a randomly generated identifier stored in your browser to recognise a returning visit. IP addresses are truncated by Google before storage and are not available to us. We will not enable Google Signals, advertising features, or remarketing. This paragraph will be updated to the present tense on the day the tag goes live.
9. Service providers
We use a small number of providers who process data on our behalf: a form-delivery service that passes form submissions to our inbox, a business email provider, a static hosting provider and CDN, and — if you use the site assistant — an AI provider that generates its replies. Each is bound to process the data only on our instructions. We do not authorise any of them to use your information for their own purposes.
10. Contact and how to make a request
Privacy requests and questions go to a named person, not a shared queue:
- Privacy contact: Joseph Mbatchou, Chief Executive Officer, BoaTech Consulting LLC
- Email: info@boatechconsulting.com with “Privacy request” in the subject line
- Acknowledgement: within 5 business days
- Full response: within 30 calendar days. If a request is complex we may extend once, and we will tell you why before the 30 days are up.
- Cost: free. We do not charge for a first request.
11. Changes
If we change this policy we update the date at the top. If a change materially affects what we do with information we already hold, we will say so here rather than change it quietly.
Ask us anything about your data
If something here is unclear, or you want to know exactly what we hold about you, write to us and a person will answer.
